About Us
The Friends of Ricker Memorial Library is a non-profit organization that provides fundraising services to the Ricker Memorial Library in Poland, Maine. Their purpose is simple, but very important: "To encourage patronage of the Ricker Memorial Library through programs of interest and value to the community, and to support Library activities and projects."
Each year, the Friends provide over $1,000 towards the Library's Children's Summer Reading Program. In the past, the Friends have provided funding for new curtains and shelving for the Library, for audiobook purchases, and for other important Library purchases. The Friends also sponsor special events throughout the year, such as the science program last February, the Monday Afternoon Movies program that we held during the months of October and November, and other special events.
Membership in the Friends is based on either an annual membership donation or a service to the library. Please consider joining the Friends by donating of either your time or your money.
